Conductance fluctuations near Anderson transition

چکیده
In this paper we report measurements of conductance fluctuations in single crystal samples of Si doped with P and B close to the critical composition of the metal insulator transition (nc ≈ 4 × 10 cm). The measurements show that the noise, which arises from bulk sources, does not diverge as the Ioffe-Regal limit (kF l → 1) is approached from the metallic side. At room temperatures, the magnitude of the noise shows a shallow maximum around kF l ≈ 1.5 and drops sharply as the insulating state is approached. 71.30.+h,72.70.+m,71.55.Cn Typeset using REVTEX email: [email protected]. ernet.in email: [email protected]

Conductance statistics in small insulating GaAs:Si wires at low temperature. II: experimental study
We have observed reproducible conductance fluctuations at low temperature in a small GaAs:Si wire driven across the Anderson transition by the application of a gate voltage. We analyse quantitatively the log-normal conductance statistics in terms of truncated

متن کاملSuperconductivity in disordered thin films: giant mesoscopic fluctuations.
We discuss the intrinsic inhomogeneities of superconductive properties of uniformly disordered thin films with a large dimensionless conductance g. It is shown that mesoscopic fluctuations, which usually contain a small factor 1/g, are crucially enhanced near the critical conductance g(cF) >> 1 where superconductivity is destroyed at T = 0 due to Coulomb suppression of the Cooper attraction. Th...

متن کاملQuark Spectrum near Chiral Transition Points
Near the critical temperature of the chiral phase transition, a collective excitation due to fluctuation of the chiral order parameter appears. We investigate how it affects the quark spectrum near but above the critical temperature. The calculated spectral function has many peaks. We show this behavior can be understood in terms of resonance scatterings of a quark off the collective mode.
